What Makes Soy Wax So Special?
Share
Unlike traditional paraffin wax, used by many well-known candle manufacturers, soy wax is made from soybean oil, created by Michael Richards in 1991, when looking for an inexpensive alternative to beeswax. Soy wax is 100% natural, 100% renewable, and 100% environmentally friendly - which is really important to us at Dulcie Dreams!
1. LONGER BURNING - Soy wax has a lower melting point which means your candle will last up to 50% longer than paraffin wax candles.
2. NON-TOXIC - As soy wax is made from vegetable oil, it doesn't release harmful toxins into the air. Suffer from allergies? You won't have to worry when burning soy wax, as it is hypoallergenic and produces no nasty chemicals, carcinogens, or pollutants!
3. BETTER FRAGRANCE - Due to the lower melting temperature of the wax, a more even, healthier ‘wax pool’ around the wick is created. Allowing the oils to easily vaporise, creating a scent that will be much stronger and long-lasting.
4. ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY - Soybeans are sustainable, renewable, and biodegradable, minimising its impact on ecosystems and landfills. In contrast, paraffin wax is derived from non-renewable fossil fuels and is a by-product of the refinery process for petroleum oil.
5. EASIER TO CLEAN - Accidents happen, and spills of soy wax are much easier to wipe up than other waxes. Any spills can be easily cleaned with a little soap and water.
6. CLEANER BURNING - Soy wax burns clean which means minimal soot is released, so you won't have to worry about any black stains on your curtains or walls!
7. CRUELTY-FREE AND ETHICAL - Soy wax does not use animal-derived ingredients or take part in any animal testing.
8. SUPPORTING FARMERS - By choosing soy wax candles, you're not only treating yourself but also supporting the livelihoods of hardworking farmers who cultivate, plant, and harvest soybeans.
